Flume, Kite String Tangle Among Over 30 New Speakers At EMC

The already-massive program for next month's Electronic Music Conference has become even bigger, with the addition of a smorgasbord of new speakers including Aussie show-stopper Flume and ARIA-nominated countryman Kite String Tangle.

Joining those venerated local acts on the speakers list will be Dutch artist Laidback Luke, Grammy-winning producer Cedric Gervais, Latane Hughes of the Windish Agency, DJ and Vicious head John Course, The Presets' manager Will Larnach-Jones, disco sensation Late Nite Tuff Guy, Laneway's Danny Rogers, and the "other" half of What So Not, Emoh Instead. Those names are all in addition to already-announced presenters such as Porter Robinson, Steve Aoki, Will Sparks, Peking Duk and the Aston Shuffle.

This year's theme is Discovery, which permeates this year's event throughout its many panels and events. According to founder Neil Ackland: "In the past, EMC has been a forum for industry leaders to discuss issues and topics that affect them and while that will still be a major part of EMC, this year we're giving focus to helping emerging artists learn the tools to get discovered and have long, successful careers in the industry."

This year's EMC event will feature more than 80 artists and industry figures speaking at more than 20 panels across four venues: The Eternity Playhouse, The Beresford Upstairs, Lo-Fi and The Standard Bowl. The array of panels, workshops and networking opportunities include keynote presentations from Robinson and Aoki, as well as two special inside looks: Meet The Team Behind The Flume Phenomenon, and Meet The Team Behind Peking Duk.

EMC is held in Sydney from December 2-4. Second-release tickets are available now ($349 plus tax and fees) until Thursday, November 13, and are available via Moshtix. For more information about the program, see EMC's website.
