Flight Of The Conchords - the duo of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement - have officially announced an Australian tour, to take place this July.

Renowned for their HBO-backed TV show of the same name, which came after a BBC2 Radio series and stand-up stints, McKenzie especially has grown to international acclaim - even winning an Academy Award this year for a song he wrote for the latest Muppets movie.

Speaking with the announcement today Clement said, "We are finally returning to Australia. Mostly to apologise."

The band have performed in Australia before - notably at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival prior to their television show, when they won Best Newcomer. This will be their first full scale tour of the nation though.
