The event will celebrate its 23rd year

Much-loved Sydney short film festival Flickerfest will return in 2014, with the event set to celebrate its 23rd year.

So far, over 2000 films have been submitted to organisers, setting the tone for one of its biggest years yet. Once again, it will be held at the Bondi Pavilion, Bondi Beach, running from Friday 10 to Sunday 19 January.

As with every year, Flickerfest, which is BAFTA accredited, will showcase films across a range of categories, such as International, Australian, Documentary and GreenFlicks, which recognises features with an environmental theme or focus.

There are plentgy of incentives for budding filmmakers again, besides the prize money. Several of the awards are Academy accredited, giving locals the chance to be recognised on a global scale.
