29 March is officially the day of FISHER in Las Vegas as a way to pay tribute to the Aussie DJ.
On Saturday, 29 March, a proclamation document about the official DAY OF THE FISH was rolled out as FISHER performed at the premiere day club in Las Vegas, TAO Beach. He signed the document before putting on a show.
Last year, it was reported that the city’s outgoing mayor, Carolyn Goodman, issued a proclamation naming the date the DAY OF THE FISH.
“We welcome [FISHER] to Las Vegas and thank him for bringing his energy and music to our fabulous city,” the proclamation read, per EDM.com.
FISHER said of the news, “NO FKN WAY!!! THEY NAMED A DAY AFTER ME IN LAS VEGAS! MARCH 29th IS OFFICIALLY “DAY OF THE FISH”!! THANK YOU LEGENDS @taobeach.”

FISHER receiving a day in his honour in Las Vegas arrives after he announced the return of his record-breaking music festival, OUT 2 LUNCH.
The festival heads to Surfers Paradise next month – Saturday, 3 May, and Sunday, 4 May—and will see FISHER take up double headlining duty across the two days. During the weekend, he’ll be joined by a range of international heavyweights: Chris Lake, Patrick Topping, DJ Boring, and Noizu.
A few local legends will join in, including Hayden James and Jake Smith, while Little Fritter and Shimmy will return to the stage at the biggest dance event Surfers Paradise has ever seen - with 40,000 punters expected to descend onto the beach for the event.
Last year’s inaugural event was held at Coolangatta Beach, and, with 30,000 punters in attendance, broke Australia’s record for the biggest-ever beach party, ultimately injecting $50 million into the Gold Coast’s economy.
