Australia’s annual celebration of all things hard’n’heavy, Soundwave, has revealed that Japanese metalcore outfit coldrain have earned the honour of being named as the festival’s first confirmed act for 2015.
For the uninitiated, coldrain are a band at the cusp of the next stage of their career, with the seven-year-old outfit's first internationally released full-length (and third all up), The Revelation, set to drop in a matter of days, on August 8.
The Nagoya-bred rockers boast a well qualified history in the fields of shredding and face-melting, too, having already shared stages alongside the likes of contemporary titans Bullet For My Valentine, Crossfaith and Miss May I, as well as appearing at renowned festivals abroad (such as the UK’s Download Festival) and at home, including Summer Sonic, Rock In Japan and Ozzfest Japan.
Existing and potential fans will be able to catch coldrain on the Soundwave tour in four different cities next year – the festival tour hits Adelaide’s Bonython Park and Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on February 21-22, and heads to Sydney’s Olympic Park and the Brisbane Showgrounds over the February 28-March1, 2015, weekend.
