Arrested Development ProfileIt is less than a month until Netflix in the US unveils the fourth series Arrested Development – and the first in over seven years – and a kind of teaser video has appeared online to get us even more excited, which we kinda didn't think was possible.
Here it is. Basically, Lucille isn't allowed to smoke in her building but she can't go outside because she has an ankle bracelet on. So, of course, she make Buster help her out. It's pretty funny.
The series was a cult smash hit for its three seasons on the Fox network, receiving amazing reviews across the board, but the numbers weren't good enough for Fox and the series was eventually axed.
Rumours of a movie or another season were rampant for years and a reunion of the cast about 18 months ago stirred things up even further.
Speaking with theMusic.com.au earlier this year, lead actor in the show Jason Bateman said that the new season isn't exactly a 'new season' as such.
“It's been referred to as season four, and that's a mislabelling,” he admits. “These are fourteen individual episodes that serve as act one of a three-act story the creator wants to tell. He tried to put it all in a movie but it just didn't fit. So acts two and three will be in a film that will be written once all the deals are made. These episodes are coming out in May, and they'll be very satisfying in and of themselves but they will also raise questions that only the film will answer.”
Netflix have come on board to broadcast the return of the program and will have all 15 episodes available for streaming from Sunday 26 May, US time. It is not yet known how Australian audiences will legally be able to view the program, though last mohnth The Australian reported that "Twentieth Century Fox is believed to be closer to securing an Australian broadcast deal for the program.
