Abbe Dobson crowd evacuated

A fire has done a quarter of a million dollars in damage to New South Wales Central Coast live music venue Lizotte's during a set by Abby Dobson.

According to police staff had put out a fire in the kitchen at 9.15pm using in-house extinguishers, but a second fire an hour later cut the Kimcumber venue's power and 40 patrons and staff were evacuated without injury. Early reports suggest residual heat from the first fire sparked the second blaze.

In a statement on Facebook, venue managers Brian, (brother of Mark Lizotte, aka Diesel) and wife Jo Lizotte posted, “Unfortunately last night during Abby Dobson's performance a fire broke out and the restaurant was evacuated. The fire brigade arrived promptly and the blaze was contained to the kitchen.

“We apologise to the diners who had their night out cut short and thank them for their composure during the turn of events. We'd like to send out a HUGE thank you to the fire brigade and policemen who attended the scene and to our wonderful staff who dealt with the situation swiftly and professionally.”
