Tropfest Finalists Revealed

As well as Tropscore and Tropscore Jr

The biggest short-film event in Australia has selected the best of the best, with Tropfest revealing its round of finalists in the running for this year's prize.

16 filmmakers from across NSW, VIC and WA makeup his year's finalists, with a wide range of movie genres featuring including comedies, documentaries, thrillers and dramas. Founder and Director John Polson expressed his excitement over the diverse shortlist.

“We are thrilled by the strength, creativity and originality of the films submitted. The ideas, influences and filmmaking approaches are never the same – and that's been no different this time around.”

Finalists have also been revealed for Tropscore and Tropscore Jr. Both recognise excellence in film composing,with the latter a competition for emerging film composers aged 15 years and under.

The winners of the two categories will be announced in December and will perform their score live when Tropfest kicks-off on Sunday 8 December at Sydney's Centennial Park.
