The five finalists for the Mushroom Group and commercial radio-run competition First Break have been announced today.
Sydney five-piece Castlecomer, emerging pop singer-songwriter Alexandra Jae, Western Australian outfit Indigo, indie rock trio The Royales and the brother/sister fronted Nova and the Experience are all vying for the 2014 title.
The acts will perform for Mushroom executives and network music directors on Friday 6 December in Sydney. The winner will receive more than $2 million in commercial radio airplay, spread across two singles plus marketing and touring support.
First Break replaced the New Artists 2 Radio [NA2R] program in 2012. This year's winner was Sydney based pop artist Iluka.
