FIDLAR Approach SxSW Like A House Party

The LA punk rockers tackle every show the same way.

More Fidlar More Fidlar

Los Angeles born and raised punk rockers FIDLAR are one of the buzz bands at the SxSW conference that's currently underway. When we chatted with them just prior to the event's kick-off, there were no signs of a specific plan to tackle Austin.

“We're gonna play the way we always play,” said lead singer Zac Carp. “I mean we approach a house party the way we would play at a gig or festival. It just makes sense to us to do it that way.”

Known for their partying antics, the band is no stranger to wild fans that seem to have adopted a similar mentality to that of the Cali four-piece, whose name stands for Fuck It Dog Life's A Risk. But who tears it up even harder than the band themselves?

“I think out of anywhere in the world, even America, so far the UK fans though have been the craziest. For some reason, the kids over here they love to jump on stage and they love to cause trouble (laughs).  I mean the show we played in Brighton the other night, it was pretty crazy. Everybody was jumping on stage at the end, it was wild.”

The band also have a few interesting choices on their collaboration wish list.

“Ooooh! Dr Dre! I would to work with him one day,” Carp exclaimed.

“ Or early Silverchair. Like really early, not even their first record, I'm talking about their demos. But somehow I don't think that could happen now (laughs).”

FIDLAR's self-titled album is out now. Check out our review.
