The bassist of Faith No More, Korn’s guitarist and the drummer from Bad Religion have announced a debut single for their joint side project.

Billy Gould, James ‘Munky’ Shaffer and Brooks Wakerman along with Repeater vocalist Steve Krolikowski, UK guitarist and producer/engineer Leopold Ross and keyboardist Zac Baird formed industrial rock band, Fear And The Nervous System three years ago.

Although there has been talk of upcoming material for the project since 2008, the first single, Choking Victim is now available for free download on the band’s website.

Shaffer, who had been recording solo since 2008 when he spearheaded the venture said in a statement:

“I started this project because I want to express myself musically and show the world a different side of me creatively.”

Although he had originally planned to do the vocals, the band has since decided Krolikowski was a better fit.

A release date for the yet-to-be-named full-length has not been confirmed but according to the FATNS Facebook page, is ‘imminent.’ What has been confirmed though is the artwork for the record which will be designed by Limp Bizkit guitarist, Wes Borland.

The album will be released through Shaffer’s own label, Emotional Syphon Recordings.
