The Newcastle City Council has let the cat out of the bag.
Popular Newcastle festival Fat As Butter is to be home to a contingent of campers as well as the usual single day revellers, the Newcastle Herald has today reported, with the event set to have space for 1500 festival attendees at Stockton's Ballast Ground over the weekend of Friday 18 October – Sunday 20.
The festival looks like it will be held on Saturday 19 October, if the Newcastle City Council website is to be believed, though the festival have said they will not be making any announcements until next week. [EDIT: Festival organisers have this afternoon told theMusic.com.au that this date is not yet confirmed.]
The festival is said to have a capacity of 25,000 in 2013, which could make the 1,500 camping spots in high demand. No word on the line up as yet, but an estimated 11,000 people came through the gates for the likes of Good Charlotte, Grinspoon, 360, Yellowcard, Wheatus, Eiffel 65 and more.
The festival have recently been embroiled in a legal dispute with previous headliner Flo Rida who neglected to show for his scheduled 2011 set.
