Farmer & The Owl Festival Unveils 2015 Line-Up & Pricing Revolution

First-release tickets are "pay what you like"

Fledgling Wollongong-based music and arts event the Farmer & The Owl Festival is returning for its second iteration this March, once again populated with an A-grade list of local and international acts and, for the first time, boasting a "pay what you like" ticket pricing strategy.

The event — developed by promotional agency Yours & Owls in conjunction with the Music Farmers record shop — will return to last year's site at the University Of Wollongong on Saturday, 14 March, with artists from the United States, South Africa and New Zealand joining the home-grown contingent for the follow-up to last year's sold-out event. Indeed, 2015 is no less likely to exhaust sales, with a roster of acts such as Bad//DreemsBass Drum Of DeathDZ DeathraysThe Mess HallSpookylandLunatics On PogosticksThe Peep TempelStep-Panther and PHFat, among several others, set to hit the stage for round two in a couple of months' time.

In what will hopefully prove to be a well-rewarded investment of faith in the general public's honour, the festival is offering first-release tickets under a "pay what you like" basis, allowing punters to purchase passes for an amount they deem appropriate before — once the initial batch is sold out — prices return to standardised levels for the second ($69) and third ($79) releases. The strategy is a music-festival first in the country, so let's see some responsible behaviour in order to pique the interest of other events and coaxing them into following suit.

In addition to the tunes on offer, the festival is introducing The Imaginarium — an immersive artistic installation designed to reflect "an uninhabited world of unique and vibrant creativity" that is best experienced rather than described, so head on over to Moshtix from this Friday, 16 January, to have your shot at the first round of tickets and get across all the requisite details you need to be a part of the festivities come 14 March.

Farmer & The Owl is proudly presented by The Music, and will feature more than 30 bands across four stages in addition to DJs, food, art and markets, from 1pm to midnight. See the festival's website for more information.
