More FANGZ More FANGZ

Sydney-based punks FANGZ have announced an ambitious tour plan to support their brand-new single, Same Old Story, revealing that they’ve plotted a 24-hour East Coast tour.

Over the course of one day – Saturday, 31 August – fans can catch FANGZ at three free shows, starting at Melbourne’s Cherry Bar at 1 am before putting on a show at Sydney’s Bootleggers at 1 pm and ending the run at Brisbane’s Greaser at 10:30 pm.

“3 shows. 3 states. 24 hours. Yeah, it’s probably the wildest idea we've ever cooked up—blame it on a few too many late-night chats,” FANGZ said.

“But honestly, what could be more FANGZ than this? To celebrate the release of our new single Same Old Story, we’re hitting the road for a one-day tour that’s gonna be pure chaos.

“We kick off in Melbourne at Cherry Bar, grab lunch in Sydney at Bootleggers, and wrap up with dinner at Greaser in Brisbane. It might be crazy, but that’s exactly why you should join us. Let’s get delirious together!”

FANGZ’s latest single is an infectious one produced by Tim Maxwell (LOSER) and mixed by Jonathan Gardner (Grinspoon), with the band pulling inspiration from bands like Jimmy Eat World and FIDLAR. Like those bands, FANGZ know how to fill a song with hooks.

The band said about their new single, “Same Old Story is about living authentically and unapologetically following your dreams. Recognising a chance for change or a new beginning and overcoming the doubts and obstacles to go after what you truly want. If you've ever taken a leap of faith and embraced the unknown, it will resonate with you.”

In other FANGZ news, the Aussie group were recently added to this year’s Froth & Fury festival in Adelaide, joining a bill that features Northlane, Fear Factory (festival exclusive), Thy Art Is Murder, Thornhill, Bodyjar, Hard-Ons, C.O.F.F.I.N., Future Static, Lola, and more. The one-day event goes down at Harts Mill, Port Adelaide, on Saturday, 9 November.

Back in June, FANGZ opened for Cancer Bats on their first Australian tour in five years. Those tour dates followed a period when the band made news on numerous music websites after frontman Josh Cottreau tried to break a Guinness World Record for eating the most hard-boiled eggs in one sitting.
