Changes are on the way.

Just a week after Falls Festival unveiled its first act and headliner for this year as US rapper Childish Gambino, the long-running New Years event has announced some changes moving forward, including an end to the ballot ticket system.

Having been a feature of the festival for many years, organisers have confirmed that the Falls ballot is officially retired and tickets can now be obtained exclusively through general sale.

While Optus customers will have access to pre-sale tickets from 25-26 August, general sale tickets will be available for punters from 9am on Tuesday, 30 August.

Festival-goers will be able to purchase up to four tickets in a ticket transaction. Full pricing details are expected to be announced shortly.

Meanwhile, to make things much smoother for everyone heading to Falls, camping and event tickets will now separated.

Punters who will be sleeping on site are advised to add a camping pass before checking out, while those staying elsewhere should simply buy an event ticket and ignore the camping option.

The full line-up announce is to drop on Tuesday, 23 August. For more details, check out the Falls website.
