“It’s wonderful what young artists, in particular, are doing with revitalising trad music."
Beloved WA folk sojourn Fairbridge Festival has unveiled the first eight acts to grace this year’s event, with a handful of international artists signing on for the 25th anniversary celebration this April.
The first artist announcement was curated by artistic director Red Vervest, who spent part of 2016 travelling the globe in search of ideal candidates to mark the occasion.
Here are some of the results of that talent search:
Jarlath Henderson, Phil Wiggans & Dom Turner, Les Poules A Colin, Flats & Sharps, Oi Dipnoi, Harpeth Rising, Kristina Olsen, The Chipolatas
“It’s wonderful what young artists, in particular, are doing with revitalising trad music and making it fresh and exciting,” Vervest said.
