Explosion's Fire Spreads To Hornbsy Music Store

Fire spread to Pro Guitar and Sound after an explosion in a Pacific Highway business overnight

Hornsby's Pro Guitar and Sound was affected by fire overnight after an explosion inside a nearby business on the Pacific Highway.

At approximately 2.10am, an explosion inside the My Sophia Café and Restaurant initiated a fire that spread to two nearby businesses, including a local real estate agency and the music store.

It is not yet known how much the fire affected Pro Guitar and Sound, a business that specialises in custom guitars, as well as bragging a range of instruments, a sound treated amp room and a café.

Nine trucks and two cherry pickers were on the scene, as well as firefighters who held back the flames from the Pacific Hwy to Dural St.

"There was a really loud explosion and two minutes later I heard police out the back,'' he said. "They were yelling out if anyone was here,'' A local shop owner told the Herald Sun.

"(It was) just a massive explosion that shook the building I was in. Definitely the loudest thing I've heard.'

"I walked up the street and saw half a shop across the road. The (flames) were huge, it was engulfed and burning really hot.''

There have been no injuries reported and investigators are yet to determine the cause of the blast.
