Rookie will be released in August
Brisbane's The Trouble With Templeton will today announce details of their next album Rookie and theMusic.com.au can also reveal that they've locked in agency deals for the US and Canada.
Fronted by songwriter and vocalist Thomas Calder, the album will be released Friday 2 August through MGM. It will feature previously-released singles Six Months In A Cast and Like A Kid.
The band have also started to build an international team around them and after a string of showcases – including SxSW and Canadian Music Week – it is understood that four North American agencies showed interest in booking the band.
In America they've opted to go with High Road's founder and Managing Director Frank Riley, who's worked with Ryan Adams, Wilco, Feist, Portishead and The Temper Trap and in Canada The Agency Group's Adam Countryman, whose roster includes Hey Rosetta and Half Moon Run.

Today Calder said, “We couldn't be more proud or excited with Rookie and can't wait to share share it with everyone. The album is a result of months of hard work and an unrelenting dedication to only making music we love and believe in.”
The album was produced by Brisbane-based Matt Redlich, who's worked on albums by Emma Louise and Hungry Kids Of Hungary previously.
Earlier this year Calder picked up an APRA Professional Development Award and the band were featured on Last Call With Carson Daly.
Locally the band are booked by Artist Voice's Rebecca Young and managed by Tiny Monster's Jess Beston.
