Nathan Farrell Entertainment to build this year's line-up

Sydney's renowned Newtown Festival has appointed Nathan Farrell Entertainment the event's new program and marketing manager as it looks to mark its 35th anniversary this year.

The inner-west institution is a fundraising event for the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre and regularly a solid line-up of local talent features music across a number of stages. Farrell, who books Sydney's The Basement, will take the artist submission process into consideration when booking the line-up in the next two months.

“I hope to celebrate the best in home-grown inner west and Sydney talent and marry this with some of the countries finest national touring acts,” he said.

“I've really come to learn what Newtown Festival means to both the community and the music industry. Having booked many acts on the event over the years plus living less than a block away from the festival site, I feel both privileged and excited to now have a chance to be involved in the programming of this important day on Sydney's calendar.”

The event will take place at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park Sunday 10 November from 9.30am. They expect to attract over 80,000 people.

Festival Director Sue Andersen said, “We are thrilled to have Nathan working on the festival this year. He's got such a depth of understanding of the event, the music industry, the festival community and the NNC, we know the festival will be in good hands and he will add positively to the event.”
