'Just working with Trey and Matt is one of the highlights of my career.'
Trey Parker and Matt Stone have made no secret about the fact that they would eventually like to make their multiple Tony Award-winning play, The Book Of Mormon, into a feature film.
With the acclaimed theatre production now up and running in Australia, US actor and original Broadway cast member, Josh Gad, has said he would be more than willing to star as the character of Elder Cunningham again, which earned him a Tony nomination for Best Actor In A Musical.
"[The] Book Of Mormon is obviously such an influential part of my career and being able to create the character of Elder Cunningham is truly one of the great achievements of my life," Gad told The Music during a promotional tour of Sydney for Beauty & The Beast last week.
"I would welcome any opportunity to be a part of telling that story in a new way, mostly because just working with Trey and Matt is one of the highlights of my career."

Not only did The Book Of Mormon pick up nine Tonys in 2012, including Best Musical, but it continues to sell out shows in New York, London and now Melbourne.
"It's so fun to see such smart satirists working right in front of you," Gad continued.
"To collaborate with them on anything would be a dream come true."
In an interview with IGN (via The Guardian) in 2015, Parker and Stone said that though there were no concrete plans for a feature film adaption at that stage, it is something they want to make together.
"Just being able to kind of get a definitive version back together sounds like a good thing," Parker said.
In town for the Melbourne premiere last month, Parker and Stone also revealed plans to bring The Book Of Mormon to Sydney.
The Book Of Mormon is currently playing at the Princess Theatre.
