Ian Haug is the new Director of Live Entertainment for one of Brisbane's newest venues.
We can reveal this afternoon that relatively new Brisbane venue the Eatons Hill Hotel has brought on new personnel to handle the booking of the venue, employing former Powderfinger guitarist Ian Haug as their Director Of Live Entertainment.
A founding member of the hugely successful Australian rock band, who split in 2010, Haug will be taking care of the booking of live entertainment for the venue, which boasts a 2000 capacity auditorium, which can be cut down to hold just 500 punters for smaller shows.
“After 25 years' experience playing in venues everywhere, I can honestly say that this is up there with all the best places in the world for a mid-sized venue,” Haug said in a statement issued this afternoon. “I wish this was an option when Powderfinger were still playing shows. This is a world class venue for bands and the fans alike.”
The venue, which is 19km from the Brisbane CBD, opened late in 2011 and has hosted everyone from Prince to Pete Murray, including acts like Marilyn Manson, Jimmy Barnes, Descendents, Refused and many more. One of the particular upsides of the venue is the ease with which they can hold all ages performances, a rarity in Brisbane, with the venue's top floor able to be reserved as a completely unlicensed area.
