The lead-up to this year's ARIA Awards will once again feature a range of showcases and gigs around the city in the name of ARIA Week, with a number of record labels – and theMusic.com.au – hosting events late November.

The second year of the ARIA Week program, theMusic.com.au will be presenting two events this year, partnering with leading independent label MGM again and also Chugg Music. Other labels Island Records, EMI, Sony, Inertia and triple j Unearthed will also be hosting events.

For the first time venues can register their own events to be part of the ARIA Week festivities by heading to ariaweek.ariaawards.com.au. The Week is presented in partnership with Destination NSW and Live And Local – an initiative of APRA AMCOS, the AHA NSW and ARIA – will run alongside the Week, from Monday 25 November to Sunday 1 December.

George Souris, Minister for Tourism, Major Events & The Arts, said, “Sydney is the vibrant, creative centre of the Australian music industry and offers some of the best live music venues in the country. I'm delighted these will be showcased during ARIA Week when they come alive with the best of our home-grown music talent. Last year, more than 3,000 visitors from overseas, interstate and intrastate came specifically to the Harbour City for the ARIA Awards and ARIA Week, injecting $1.4 million into the NSW economy.”

The awards will take place at Sydney's The Star Sunday 1 December and will be screened on Nine's digital channel GO!.
