The Annandale Hotel has confirmed that it has gigs booked up to September amid a scare this afternoon that suggested live music would stop in July.
Sydney metal outfit Thy Art Is Murder had posted on their Facebook, saying that their show was the last ever at the venue – and indeed the venue's website would back that up. However theMusic.com.au's own theGuide has shows at the inner west venue listed up until August.
Today the venue's booked Chris Shepherd confirmed to theMusic.com.au that gigs were booked up until September, and it was very much “business as usual”.
The iconic Sydney live venue was put officially put on the market in April, and expressions of buyer interest close tomorrow, Wednesday 8 May. Even if the venue was to be sold tomorrow the 90 day lease agreement would take them until September.
“We have bookings through June and July and a couple of things into September,” Shepherd said. “It's really important that people know the pub is trading as normal – particularly while the sale is happening – because we want an owner that will keep live music.”
