It was Brisbane musical collective Pub Choir's first birthday last night (15 March) and to celebrate ex-Powderfinger bassist John 'JC' Collins hopped up onstage to join in on one of the band's classics.

Following on from their viral tribute of The Cranberries' Zombie last month, Pub Choir pulled out all the stops for their one-year anniversary at Brisbane venue The Triffid, leading 700-plus punters in a three-part harmony rendition of Powderfinger classic My Happiness.

To help the capacity crowd (a couple hundred more punters were turned away at the door) with their final sing, Collin's appeared onstage to ear-shattering applause before playing along on what was, allegedly, his daughter's guitar.

Pub Choir is a unique event held every month in which its director, Astrid Jorgenson, leads anyone that wishes to participate in a huge singalong.

Pub Choir's next event will be held on 5 March at Brisbane Parklands as part of the Commonwealth Games Festival 18 program.
