He’ll scratch his way into Sydney, Melbourne and Perth
One of the true pioneers of the turntable, Mix Master Mike will return to Australian shores next month, treating fans in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth to the talent that earned the recognition as one of the best of all time.
Perhaps best known as the former resident turntablist for MC powerhouse the Beastie Boys, Mix Master Mike's rise to success was quite fast, and soon after catching the attention long-time collaborator Q-Bert, the two were continuously named World Champions from 1992-1994.
The two were eventually asked to no longer compete – to give others a go – and became judges of the competition, also joining forced with Apollo, D-Styles and Shortcut (the five known as Invisible Skratch Picklz or ISP), and were subsequently recognised as the most influential turntable crew in history.
Recipient of The Grandwizard Theodore lifetime achievement award and USA Today-dubbed “one of the greatest DJs of all time”, Mix Master Mike will prove why he turned the heads of colleagues, judges and the Beastie Boys for decades this November.
