ULTRA returns to Melbourne and the Gold Coast next weekend (Saturday, 11 and Sunday, 12 April), so it’s time to get planning: outfits, travel, budget for food and merchandise—you know how it goes.
ULTRA is a worldwide electronic music festival founded by Russell Faibisch in the US in 1999. Now, the event delivers spectacular experiences to more than 25 cities and 29 countries across six continents.
Aside from its huge line-ups, ULTRA is known for its immersive live events, which feature top-tier electronic music talent, cutting-edge technology, and epic large-scale productions.
The international festival officially landed in Melbourne in 2019, allowing Australian electronic music fans to experience ULTRA first-hand. Since then, it's become a staple festival in the electronic community, with major acts such as Afrojack, Alesso, Oliver Heldens, and fan favourite Steve Aoki blessing the Aussie stage.
ULTRA made its Gold Coast debut with a sold-out event in 2024 and continues to run this year, expanding into a multi-stage event.
With over 40,000 punters attending the events in previous years, ULTRA is one of the most beloved events on the Australian EDM calendar. So, ahead of this year’s festival touching down in Melbourne and the Gold Coast next weekend, here’s what you need to know.

In December, phase one of the line-up was unveiled in a pre-Christmas gift to Aussie EDM fans. Featuring The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, Darren Styles, MaRLo, Nico Moreno, and Oliver Heldens at both events, Zedd and Miss Monique will appear exclusively at the Melbourne event.
Last month, it was announced that multi-platinum superstar artist Alesso will exclusively headline the Gold Coast event, marking his sole Australian performance in 2026. Support acts and additional acts, including Dimatik, KAAZE, HI-LO, and many others, were also added to the bill.

ULTRA Australia will take place at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on Saturday, 11 April. The following day, ULTRA Beach Gold Coast will welcome fans at the Broadwater Parklands.
TICKETS
Limited general admission and tiered VIP tickets are now available via the ULTRA Australia website. However, potential punters should note that the festival is strictly 18+ and patrons must possess a valid photo ID to enter.

TRANSPORT
Punters heading to the Melbourne event should know that there’s only limited on-site parking at the Flemington Racecourse, with permit parking in the streets surrounding the venue.
Patrons are advised to take public transport – which is free in Victoria this month – with extra trains stopping at the venue, as well as buses and trams stopping near the Racecourse. If you plan to carpool or catch an Uber, there will be traffic in the area, but there will be dedicated drop-off zones.
Like Melbourne, a tram service operates to Broadwater/Southport, with a car park also attached to the venue. However, nearby car parks will fill up quickly, so if you can take public transport or rideshare, that’s an option to consider.
