Erykah BaduErykah Badu has added more shows to her itinerary for her upcoming return to Australia, announcing sideshows alongside her Byron Bay Bluesfest performance.
Recognised as the Queen of Neo Soul, Erykah Badu is returning to Australia for the first time in 12 years this April. In addition to appearing at Bluesfest on Friday, 3 April, Badu will also perform at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on Wednesday, 1 April, and Sydney’s TikTok Entertainment Centre (also known as ICC Sydney) on Saturday, 4 April.

Known as one of the most influential and enduring artists in contemporary music, Erykah Badu has won five Grammy Awards, with her wins spanning 1998 to 2025. Her music is shaped by R&B, 1970s soul, and 1990s hip-hop influences, making for an intriguing melting pot of unforgettable songs.

Badu emerged in the 1990s, alongside iconic artists such as D’Angelo and Maxwell. Her genre-defining debut, Baduizm, revealed a singular new voice. It kick-started a career featuring era-defining albums Mama’s Gun and New Amerykah; Badu consistently fuses soul, jazz, funk, and hip-hop with spiritual, political, and human themes.
At Bluesfest, Badu will perform on Good Friday in an extraordinary double-bill before Earth, Wind & Fire on the same stage. She last appeared at the festival – and Australia – in 2014.
This year, Badu is set to release a new studio album, Abi & Alan, marking her first studio album in 15 years. The record is set to be produced solely by The Alchemist.
