Marketing network will be "dedicated to dance music".
EMI Music have announced an international A&R and marketing network “dedicated to dance music”.
Dubbed the EMI Dance Network, it aims to consolidate specialists in the genre from around the world to find, develop and market dance and electronic releases.
Today's release said the Network “will be completely focused on delivering results for artists in every major market, supporting them across all revenue streams through an efficient and globally integrated approach to this important genre.”
Bart Cools, EMI Music's Executive Vice President for marketing in Europe, will oversee the new structure. Currently EMI has the likes of David Guetta, deadmau5, Nervo, Eric Prydz, Goldfish and Swedish House Mafia on its global roster.

In Australia they have Empire Of The Sun, Miami Horror and Sam Sparro, as well as the dedicated She Can DJ talent search program.
“There is so much great talent in dance and electronic music in this country,” said EMI's Australasian Chairman, Mark Poston. “A core part of our A&R strategy is that EMI is a major force in dance music here – just as it is globally.”
Bart Cools said, “We've been looking at how we can best serve our electronic music artists going forward. By taking our existing expertise in dance music and creating a new global structure we can ensure that our artists are working with people who are the experts in the genre, who have an unrivalled track record of success, and know how to take full advantage of the ever growing opportunities for dance music around the world.”
