The tour announce comes off the back of recent performances at Strawberry Fields, VIVID LIVE and Dark Mofo.
Nairoboi-born, Adelaide based singer, rapper and producer Elsy Wameyo has today announced that she'll be touring the country performing live with her 7-piece band in support of her incredible recently released debut EP, Nilotic.
The headline tour will kick off in her hometown of Adelaide at The Lab on the 5th of august, before heading to an exclusive show at Northside Records in Melbourne on the 6th of august. She'll then head to Darwin Festival on the 19th of August before performing a pair of sets at Sydney's Phoenix Central Park on Thursday the 15th of September. Tickets to the Sydney show will be made available via a ballot, which releases today HERE, with all other ticket information HERE.
Wameyo's debut EP, Nilotic attempted to reclaim, fixed and uproot the worlds evil through learning, frustration and sadness in music. It included appraised singles including Riving Nile and the eponymous Nilotic. The EP saw her utilise her brand of fusion gospel and traditional sounds to create a forceful lesson in hip-hop and R&B. She'll be delivering the full Nilotic story for the first time with a full live band across the announced tour.
She's already shared stages with Grammy award-winning Printz Board, Maségo, Sampa the Great, Genesis Owusu, Ruel and Adrian Eagle, as well as prized festivals Groovin’ The Moo, St Jerome's Laneway Festival, and her hometown Adelaide’s WOMAD and SANAA. She recently performed at Strawberry Fields, which was followed by a special VIVID LIVE show and debut appearances at Dark Mofo.
