A headliner switch for the Stradbroke Island festival.

The seventh edition of the popular Island Vibe roots and reggae festival was set to be headlined by none other than The Original Wailers, it was announced a couple of months ago, but this will no longer be the case.

The promoter has had to cancel the band's engagement with the festival and all other shows scheduled for Australia and New Zealand and while no reason has been given, Island Vibe have said the cirumstances are beyond their control.

Every cloud has a silver lining though, and in this case the silver lining comes with the news that the festival will now be headlined by the fantastic Easy Star All-Stars, the band who have backed up a whole heap of musicians on some great records over the years, but have gained their notoriety through the classic covers albums; Dub Side Of The Moon, a reworking of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, Radiodread, their take on Radiohead's OK Computer and Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Dub Band, an ambitious reimagining of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

The festival happens at Point Lookout, Stradbroke Island from Friday 26 October through to Sunday 28.
