Drop City Detail Special Anniversary Australian Shows

Drop City - widely renowned as one of Australia’s most mercurial and innovative rock groups - are gearing up for a major comeback.

Fronted by the enigmatic singer/guitarist and songwriter Matthew J Tow—who later went on to join The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Lovetones—Drop City originally released four albums throughout the 90s. The band was revered, touring Australia, Canada, and the United States, performing at The Big Day Out and Meredith Festivals as well as supporting iconic bands including The Stone Roses, Stereolab and Manic Street Preachers. 

Now, they are poised to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of their seminal 1995 release, Magic Transistor Radio. Originally released by Red Eye Records and recorded by The Boo Radleys, Spiritualized and Stereolab producer, Andy Wilkinson in London, Magic Transistor Radio will now be available on limited edition double vinyl for the first time ever via Vinyl Ticket Show Bundles and from selected record kiosks across the country from Friday, September 5th.

To further celebrate the anniversary, Drop City will also be performing two very special shows in September, at The Corner Hotel in Melbourne and the Factory Theatre in Sydney. Joining in for the ride are wonderful special guests indie pop-rock band The Earthmen, alt-rock outfit Belles With Ring, and solo rock artist Cordrazine.
