Melbourne pop-punk four-piece Drastic Park are back with a fun, energetic new single, Freefall, which includes commanding lead vocals from John Stokes and gang vocals from guitarist Elise Felsbourg and bassist Chris Tannahill.

A sang-screamed verse arrives at the bridge, with a breakdown guaranteed to be heavy AF when Drastic Park plays this one live. Freefall was produced by Alan Day (Four Year Strong), engineered by Declan White (Thornhill) and mastered by Jay Maas (Defeater, State Champs).

The music video finds the band in a space station before freefalling back to Melbourne and jamming in a multi-coloured room. Check it out below.

In addition to the new single – the second from their upcoming EP, Compound Fracture, Drastic Park have announced some tour dates in support of their new music.

Touring with special guests Down And Out in September, Drastic Park will play at Sydney’s Burdekin Hotel on Saturday, 23 September, Melbourne’s Bergy Band Room on Thursday, 28 September, and Adelaide’s Lowlife Bar on Friday, 29 September. You can find ticketing details below.

Freefall is about the guilt of enjoying the touring life while leaving a loved one behind,” the band said about Freefall in a statement. “It is about finding the balance between what is truly important and what you do for fun. It’s about learning to come down from cloud nine and getting your head out of the clouds.

“Specifically, Freefall was inspired by when we drove up to Sydney to play a show. After we got off stage, we found out that John’s son had been attacked by a dog, splitting his lip in two, and needed urgent surgery. We drove down immediately that night, enduring the 9 hours to see him before he went into surgery.”

Drastic Park announced the Compound Fracture EP in early July. The release is coming out on Wednesday, 20 September – pre-save it here.

Since forming in 2019, Drastic Park have released numerous tracks and launched two EPs. With Backdown and now Freefall, the band will only go higher. The band welcomed Felsbourg to the fold earlier this year.
