Download Festival Co-founder Confirms Event Is Heading To Australia In 2018

Believe the hype.

Those tour posters may have been fake, but talk of Download Festival heading to Australia is all true. 

UK publication IQ Magazine claims that booker and event co-founder Andy Copping confirmed to it that the British rock festival will indeed be heading Down Under In 2018. 

The news comes after a website promoting the Australian leg went online briefly last Friday with the tag, "We're coming for you Melbourne 2018".

The website has since been shut down.

If Download Festival Australia is to be announced in the coming months, it would mark the second international festival to head our way, following this week's Sydney City Limits event confirmation; a spin-off of the US Austin City Limits festival.
