"I'm completely devastated... "
Download Festival Australia say they are "confident" Ozzy Osbourne will perform his headlining slots in the country this March, after the metal legend was forced to postpone an upcoming tour of Europe due to illness.
As Blabbermouth reports, Osbourne initially called off four shows, but has since been forced to call off the entire European run after being diagnosed with a severe upper respiratory infection.
The Black Sabbath frontman recently claimed to have coughed so hard that he burst a blood vessel in his eye.
Download addressed the news in a statement given to The Music today.
“We have heard Ozzy has had to postpone some UK and European shows due to a bad flu," the statement reads.
"Download is well over a month away, we are confident he will be in Australia fit and healthy this March, we wish him all the best with his health and recovery.”

It comes after Osbourne promised fans the tour "will be completed" and his first show back is currently scheduled to be the Sydney Download festival on 9 March.
Commenting on the tour postponement Osbourne said, "I'm completely devastated for having to postpone the European leg of my tour.
"It just seems that since October, everything I touch has turned to shit. First the staph infection in my thumb and now coming down with the flu and bronchitis."
