Head down to The Bearded Lady for Brooks' second solo outing.
Don & The Mobsters frontwoman Donnelle Brooks has announced the launch of her eagerly awaited second solo EP, Poppies.
Six tracks exploring folk via sultry crooning, catchy melodies, lush harmonies and layered acoustics, Poppies is being delivered to the public with a show at The Bearded Lady on 4 December. As well as a full band, Brooks will be supported on the night by alt-folk singer-songwriter Brendan The Bard and country crooner Alex Crook.
Poppies is the culmination of a trying 12 months for the singer, who was diagnosed with vocal nodules during the EP's recording.
"I felt like my voice had betrayed me and I had to put aside a very important part of my life while I recovered," Brooks said in a statement. "Completing the EP has been such a great feeling, though, and I finally feel like I've gotten through it."
