Australian Story to air Monday 28 April

The ABC's profile series Australian Story has followed legendary The Angels frontman Doc Neeson around for 12 months as he battles a brain tumour, with the episode to air this Monday 28 April.

Titled A Very Good Rascal, the episode will see Neeson speaking about his battles with alcohol and fellow band mates, as well as divorce and depression. The title comes from a quote during an interview with Governor General Peter Cosgrove, who calls Neeson “a rascal – but a very good rascal.”

Neeson was rushed to hospital over the Christmas period in 2012, with news made public in early January 2013.

“It was a shock of course because when somebody says you've got a year to 18 months to live, that's putting a 'use by' date on me,” Neeson says in the episode.
