Fans following the Good Things Festival social media accounts have been waiting (im)patiently for this year’s line-up to be revealed. And now, after the festival’s latest post on Instagram, fans believe the Good Things team is starting to drip-feed some line-up teasers.

Sharing an image of the behind-the-scenes trucks on social media on Thursday (16 July), the Good Things team paid tribute to the people who have “already been on site for days.”

Describing them as a small army, and starting the post by mentioning a “first note,” speculation is running rife about whether the festival just dropped a major hint about this year’s line-up.

The post reads: “Before the first note plays every year, there is a small army of unrecognised legends who have already been on site for days. The crew that makes Good Things possible, we salute you.”

In the comment section, fans have thrown their hats in the ring: they reckon the caption could be hinting at My Chemical Romance (first note, small army = Welcome To The Black Parade) or AC/DC (“We salute you”). Of course, fans have also been waiting for many years for System of a Down to return to Australia, so they’re mentioned too.

Whatever the Good Things Festival team may or may not be teasing, punters will have to wait a little bit longer to see the line-up, as it was recently confirmed that the line-up will be dropping in August, as it has in 2019, 2023, 2024, and 2025. Only 2022 was an anomaly, as coming back from the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was “locked and loaded early.”

“We’ve been secretly grinding behind the scenes hoping to completely surprise you with a late July announcement,” the festival team revealed on its blog earlier this month.

The post continued, “However, pulling together a Good Things lineup takes patience, poise, and precision. We refuse to rush it or cut corners; we want to make sure every single piece of the puzzle is perfectly in place before we unleash the beast.

“So, consider this our official transparency update: We are officially on track for an August announcement. This is our traditional sweet spot for dropping the full, glorious poster (and we honestly can't wait for you to see the theme this year... any guesses?)”

Good Things Festival returns to Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane this year, locking in dates for Friday, 4 December, Saturday, 5 December, and Sunday, 6 December, respectively.

Last year’s event was a massive affair, headlined by metal idols Tool, alternative veterans Weezer, and beloved rock legends Garbage.
