Sydney five-piece Deep Sea Arcade have today announced they'll be heading out on tour in celebration of their new album.

The LP, Blacklight, dropped today and is the group's first album since their 2012 debut Outlands.

"On the first album I’d always hide behind something and hide vulnerability, and it left me feeling detached," explains frontman Nic McKenzie of the album.

"On this record I feel like I forced myself to actually go, no, I am vulnerable and I’m going to say things about being vulnerable and when I speak to the audience, I’ll be that person, I’ll be me."

The band will kicking off the tour at The Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle on 11 January and will then visit Sydney's Oxford Art Factory, Canberra's Molo Live (ANU Bar), Melbourne's Corner Hotel, Byron Bay's The Northern, Brisbane's The Zoo, Adelaide's Fat Controller and Perth's Jack Rabbit Slims, before wrapping up at Mojo's Bar in Fremantle at the start of February.
