Broadcasting legend to be fitted with pacemaker
Sir David Attenborough has cancelled his upcoming Australia tour – due to start in Brisbane next week – to undergo surgery in London.
The world's most famous naturalist broadcaster was set to undertake the operation yesterday, London time, after his cardiologist advised that he was in “urgent” need of a pacemaker.
A statement from promoter Lateral Events' CEO Simon Baggs announced, “that the forthcoming sell-out tour of Australia… has been cancelled.
“Sir David expressed his extreme disappointment as he said he was very much looking forward to coming back to Australia and he hopes to reschedule his tour in the near future.”
