Band to release single in German

Darwin-formed three-piece Worldfly have announced a European label deal with Dramatico Records.

The deal will cover the band's releases in second home Germany (where they spend most of their time touring), Austria and Sweden. Signed to Perambulator records in Australia, which is an imprint of Skinnyfish Music , the band's frontman Michael Maher is fluent in German.

The band's first single will be German track Über den Wolken (Above the Clouds) in the song's native language before releasing the English album A World Gone Crazy later this year.

Perambulator and Skinnyfish's Mark Grose said, “Working with an accomplished act like Worldfly is fantastic and this partnership with Dramatico is further evidence that nimble independents have the ability to break Australian artists anywhere in the world.

“We're really happy to be able to work on global release plans that are tailored to our artists and their music rather than fitting them into a box and sticking them in a radio format.”

The band will next play Darwin Saturday 20 April at the Darwin Entertainment Centre.
