Peter Garrett will be joined by L-Fresh The Lion, Sampa The Great, Methyl Ethel and more
After overcoming financial issues earlier this month, Northern Territory music and arts event Darwin Festival has unveiled its full 18-day program, with an array of eclectic talent confirmed alongside previous announced headliners Peter Garrett and Sarah Blasko.
Set across numerous venues, theatres and more from 4-21 August, the annual event and state’s biggest cultural celebration has once again locked down an impressive selection of acts from across the country.
Midnight Oil leader Peter Garrett will take his album tour to the state, joined by his band, The Alter Egos, for a show at The Amphitheatre that will see local opener Gawurra supporting, while sets from L-Fresh the Lion, Sampa the Great, Methyl Ethel and Stonefield have also been confirmed.
Previously-announced headliner Sarah Blasko will be joined by Manmoyi’s garageless-garage band Nabarlek for opening night, and the music program is rounded out by Tamara-Anna Cislowska, Black Jesus Experience, Moses Gunn Collective, Northeast Party House, Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds, Hetty Kate and Darren Hanlon.
