After much speculation leading to the announcement of an upcoming solo album, Midnight Oil frontman and ex-politician Peter Garrett has announced a massive run of intimate theatre shows this July in support of his comeback album, A Version Of Now.

Backed by his band The Alter Egos, most of whom played on the new album, Garrett will head out on a 12-date tour that kicks off in Perth on 21 July and traipses through WA, Qld, SA, NT, NSW, ACT and Vic.

WA blues-rock muso Abbe May will be joining the rock legend on the tour, both playing in Garrett's live band and opening each show (except Darwin).

Garrett says, "Getting up close and physical is what live performance is all about. Being back on stage and playing these new songs will be a blast."
