You don't see that every day.
Punters at Laneway Sydney got about as close to a Silverchair performance as one could hope for, with legendary frontman Daniel Johns gracing the festival across the weekend to perform one of the band’s classics.
As The Music reviewer Mick Radojkovic notes, it was during What So Not’s set on the Garden Stage that Johns made an appearance.
Footage uploaded to Johns’ Instagram story shows the singer emerging from an upright coffin to the grungy opening riffs of the band’s classic hit Freak, which he goes onto sing most of.
They then performed their collaborative track, Be Ok Again, and If You Only Knew.
“It was a big, big performance from Chris Emerson of What So Not, proving that he can definitely pull the crowds with a massive stage and light show,” Radojkovic said.
