"What a privilege to celebrate local Territory music! Congratulations to the winners, Danger Den, whose music is insatiable, fun and energetic. Can’t wait them to take over the music industry!”
Top End punk rock outfit Danger Den's single Sugar Rush has been named the number one song released in the Northern Territory last year.
The result is from the Territory Sounds countdown, which broadcasted live throughout the NT on ABC Radio Darwin and the Northern Territory, 8CCC, Gove FM, TEABBA and PAW Radio last night.
Over 900 people voted in the counted in the countdown with Danger Den also taking out the number 2 spot with Too Much To Ask. Both of the tracks are taken from their album Pull Yourself Together, which released in September of last year.
The top 10 was announced by ABC Radio Darwin's Mikaela Simpson, which featured well established artists including Baker Boy and King Stingray, alongside some of the Territory's best and most exciting emerging talent.
Reggae musician Katanga Juniour, folk songbird Alice Cotton and NT Music Awards Finalist Phoebe Olivia also made the Top 10.
