Dan Rosen, Peter Karpin, John Watson Named For Face The Music Conference

First names for Melbourne conference announced

ARIA and PPCA CEO Dan Rosen, Universal Music executive Peter Karpin and Gotye/Birds Of Tokyo manager John Watson have been named amongst the first speakers for this year's Face The Music conference.

The annual Melbourne non-profit event, which last year featured AJ Maddah and Kimbra as main attractions, has today released a snippet of names from the 150 industry professionals which will be named in the main Wednesday 11 September announcement.

Other speakers include Jess Beston of Tiny Monster, entrepreneur Bruce Milne, artist Cash Savage, Sophie Miles of Mistletone Records, Kim Carter of Rockstar Management, Dr Ianto Ware of the National Live Music Office, Darren Levin from FasterLouder and Mess+Noise, Marcus Teague from The Vine, Tim Morrison of Trial Kennedy, Nic Warnock of RIP Society, Markus Popp of Oval (Germany) and Ross Knight from the Cosmic Psychos.

The 2013 topics will range from marketing, management, bookings and recordings to the vinyl resurgence, reality television talent quests and the value and viability of streaming. Face The Music will partner with Arts Centre Melbourne's Digital Learning Hub, which will offer creative workshops and masterclasses.

The conference, which is presented by The Music, will take place Friday 15 and Saturday 16 November at Arts Centre Melbourne. Tickets are now on sale from facethemusic.org.au.
