Featuring The Stiffys' Jason Leigh.

There's no end yet in sight to WA muso and The Music editor Dan Cribb's monthly series of The Simpsons punk cover songs, which is just the kind of good news we needed to perk us up on an honestly otherwise pretty average Thursday.

Cribb's latest effort reimagines season 12 tune Drop Da Bomb (Yvan Eht Nioj), from the episode New Kids On The Blecch, and features guest vocals from Jason Leigh of The Stiffys, adding yet another quality collaborator to Cribb's ever-growing list of quality collaborators.

"Given that Jason has spent most of his musical career dressed as a sailor, there was really no other song he could do," Cribb said in a statement.

"I met Jason back in 2013 when I was playing bass in David Liebe Hart’s [Tim & Eric] band around Australia and The Stiffys were supporting. They sing about important things like kickflips and champagne, which is an interesting contrast to his soaring rock vocals, and why his appearance on Worst Tribute Ever worked so well."

The extended time frame of his covers project — dubbed Worst Tribute Ever — has come in the wake of Cribb's well-received outing at BIGSOUND earlier this month with a handful of his previous guest vocalists.

He's now nabbed several more willing musos to add to the mix, meaning unreleased gems such as MonorailSee My Vest, Who Needs The Kwik-E-Mart? and others will get to see the light of day in the coming months.

For now, though, enjoy Drop Da Bomb (Yvan Eht Nioj) and check out the rest of his tribute series on Bandcamp.
