It's the last chance for Aussies to catch the Blur frontman live this year
Southern Australian fans will get a look-in on Damon Albarn’s impending tour, with Frontier Touring announcing today they have snagged an all-ages headline show for the luminous Blur frontman to take place at Melbourne’s renowned Palais Theatre on Friday, December 12.
The revelation comes only a few days after the Sydney Opera House announced a second showing for the esteemed British muso, with Melburnians – and those within travel distance – now having a chance of their own to hear Albarn in celebratory mode, supporting the release of his recent, acclaimed solo LP Everyday Robots.
The 46-year-old Grammy Award-winner will be joined in the flesh by his new live band, The Heavy Seas, comprised of guitarists Seye Adelekan and Jeff Wootton, drummer Pauli The PSM, and keyboardist Mike Smith.
We’ve been assured that this is it for extra Albarn dates, so no sense in holding out hope for a further announcement; act quick when tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster from 9am on Friday, July 18.
