More Daft Punk More Daft Punk

To celebrate ten years of their influential album Random Access Memories, Daft Punk have released a special anniversary edition featuring over 35 minutes of unreleased music.

Spanning across nine tracks, the band have revealed a select number of demos, outtakes and unfinished tracks that showcase the creative process of the dynamite duo. Fans can listen to the bones of each song before the band worked their magic and turned them into some of the biggest hits of the last century.

The first single on the album, released in March, is aptly titled The Writing Of Fragments Of Time, and you can hear Thomas Bangalter and Todd Edwards chatting together, working through the complexities of the song released song Fragments Of Time, and humming along to see what works. Listen to it below.

Also featured on this b-side phenomenon is the starting point of Get Lucky and Lose Yourself To Dance, where the band work through the catchy sonic elements of both songs and lay the bed for Pharell to come in and do his thing.

An early demo of Infinity Crush, titled Infinity Repeating, is also included, which demonstrates clearly the massive changes that took place between the demo and the final cut.

Random Access Memories was released in 2013 and quickly became a defining album for the creative duo. It was the band's only album to even reach number on the Billboard 100 Chart and won them several GRAMMY's at the 2014 award show. Random Access Memories was their fourth and final album before they disbanded and officially announced their retirement in 2021.
