‘I Have To Go Rogue Every Single Time’: Peach PRC Reflects On The Past As She Steps Into Her New Era

Daft Punk Cancel Colbert Appearance

They'll play the MTV VMAs instead.

More Daft Punk Daft Punk

French electro robot dudes Daft Punk were supposed to appear on The Colbert Report Tuesday night US time, but cancelled that appearance at the last minute, Pitchfork reports.

The cancellation was due to the fact the group had been locked in as secret special guest performers at this year's MTV VMAs and appearing on The Colbert Report would breach the band's contract with MTV.

Pharrell, who sings Get Lucky – the song the band were believed to have been playing (Nile Rodgers was in town as well) – still appeared, but alongside replacement act Robin Thicke. They performed their smash hit single Blurred Lines.

The MTV VMAs are held Sunday 25 August at the Barclays Center in New York.

The show will screen on Comedy Channel tonight at 7.30pm.
