Iconic Aussie rockers Daddy Cool have lost their longtime bassist Wayne Duncan, aged 72.
Duncan's friend Craig Horne took to Facebook to make a public statement, writing, "It is with deep sadness that I let you know, on behalf of his partner Anne, daughters Justine and Catherine as well as Dean, that our great friend Wayne Duncan passed away in the early hours of this morning at the age of 72."
Noise11 reports that Duncan suffered a stroke last week, however this has not been confirmed at this time. Daddy Cool's Ross Hannaford also passed in March this year after a battle with cancer.
"The family have asked for privacy at this time...Funeral details will be announced later this week," writes Horne.
Daddy Cool shot to fame in the 1970s after mega-hits Eagle Rock and Come Back Again from the band's debut, Daddy Who? Daddy Cool, which went on to become the first Aussie album to sell more than 100,000 copies.
Duncan and the band were inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 2006 after reforming their original line-up and playing at the Melbourne Tsunami Benefit Concert in 2005.
The Age reports that the band's last show together with the original line-up was in 2014, when the quartet were inducted into The Age Music Victoria Hall Of Fame.
Daddy Cool's lead vocalist Ross Wilson also shared the news last night on Twitter.
